How a Book Turned Into a Retreat, And Why We Begin in Marbella in January

I’m Jasmina, one of the founders of The Next Chapter Club, and the woman behind the book From Tapas to Towers. A few months ago I released this book into the world: an honest, unfiltered look at what it really means to rebuild your life between Marbella and Dubai: the beauty, the cultural shocks, the loneliness, the humor, the bureaucracy, the unexpected friendships, all of it.

I wrote it thinking it would live quietly on people’s nightstands. Instead, it has been travelling without me, landing in bookstores and readers’ hands in countries I’ve never even been to, mentioned in places I never imagined. Somehow a very personal story became a very collective one, because so many women recognized themselves in it: the urge to start over, the chaos of expatriate life, the longing for belonging.

And that is exactly how The Next Chapter Club was born. Not as a “business” or a trendy idea, but as a continuation of the book. A place to gather women who are also in the middle of a chapter shift: some moving countries, some changing careers, some healing, some dreaming again after years of autopilot. A place with real conversations, beautiful surroundings, good food, and the feeling that you are not doing life alone.

Why We Begin in Marbella, and Why in January

People often think of Marbella as champagne-in-August Marbella. I have always loved another side of it, the one I also describe in my book. January in Marbella is the quiet kind of luxury. The beaches are calm, the mornings are crisp with sunlight, and the air feels clean and generous, the kind that wakes you up without noise. You walk with a jacket in the morning and end up taking it off by the time you reach your coffee. Terraces are still open, the sea looks almost glassy, and the sunsets are gentle instead of dramatic. It’s the month where Marbella exhales, and lets you breathe with it. It is also the perfect season to wander through nearby villages, explore without crowds, or simply do nothing except exist beautifully. And that is why our first retreat will take place there — Marbella, January 2026 — in a setting that allows the nervous system to drop its shoulders.

What These Retreats Are, and Are Not

They are not a rigid schedule of activities.
They are not a wellness bootcamp.
They are not a networking circus.

They are days designed with space, where your only job is to read, rest, think, talk, taste, and reset. Books will be swapped, conversations will be warm (and sometimes hilariously unfiltered), and life will feel lighter again, even if just for a weekend. Because somewhere between a chapter ending and a new one beginning, women need a place to go. We built that place.
